I brought an older car in for a quick check to make sure there weren't significant concerns. Knowing that a car at 125k plus miles was about to roll in without a history of recent significant maintenance other than oil changes, etc., I wanted to avoid a shop simply running through "the list." I gave them a specific list of symptoms and, to my great satisfaction, they reported back on those symptoms specifically, explaining the situation (or lack thereof) and recommended very practical solutions/service only if needed. They did suggest a possible older car maintenance look, but it was only at the end, it wasn't pushy, and honestly I didn't disagree with them (it's just that wasn't the problem I needed solved that day). They charged a nominal amount for the time it took them to diagnose various issues and provide recommendations. I was very pleased and I think they earn their "honest" title in my book. I plan to bring my vehicle back in the future when I can.
